The company is owned and run by qualified social workers ensuring best practice through transcending their knowledge and experience throughout the staff team.

Ross Barnett [ Director]

Ross Barnett is one of the company founding Directors and has over 10 years working with children and their families. Ross is a qualified Social Worker, registered with the GSCC and he began his career with the Local Authority working within the Looked After Children Team. He then went to work within long term child protection and mental health. In 2005 Ross established a residential therapeutic group of children’s homes and schools and he has a passion for residential therapeutic care. He has a Bsc Hons degree in Psychology and holds the Registered Managers Award. He is also a Qualified Team Teach Tutor.

Kate Scoins [ Manager ]

Kate Scoins the Registered Manager is a qualified Social Worker with GSCC registration and she has worked with Children and Families and Fostering Teams for over ten years. Kate has worked for the local authority within The Initial Assessment team, The Looked After Children team, Long Term teams and a Fostering team showcasing an exemplary ability to undertake and complete the highest quality assessments. She also has successfully completed the Post Qualifying Award part 1, and holds a BS Hons Degree in Specialist Practice in Social Care (Children and Families) which includes the Practice Teaching Award. Prior to Kate starting at Majestic Family Services she was the Specialist Lead Social Worker for East Kent Parent and Child Scheme. She is also trained in the use of the Parenting Assessment Manual (PAMS) developed by Sue McGaw for undertaking assessments with parents with learning difficulties. 

Training Systems

Our training system offers around 20 in- house and external training courses which equips the staff team with the most up to date and effective skills for caring for children and families. All staff members have on-going regular therapeutic input via family focussed sessions and staff facilitation sessions from our qualified therapists.

All new Majestic Family Services staff complete a comprehensive induction program in line with the CWDC Induction Standards and GSCC Codes of Practice to help them gain and demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to work with children and families with complex needs.
